Q: Do you recycle or donate any of the items you pick up?
A: YES! All cars, metals, computers, carpet padding, batteries, and other recyclable materials are taken to local recycling centers. All computer monitors, tires, refrigerators, air conditioners and other non recyclable hazardous materials are disposed of with the proper state/county or private organizations which are licensed to accept such items.
The greatest challenge in donating items to local charities is getting them to show up on time at a job site to pick up those items that can be resold. Keeping as much stuff as possible out of the local landfills is an important goal for our company. In an effort to solve this problem, we maintain warehouses in each city in which we operate. All of the items that can be donated are stored until the weekends when the charities like Goodwill Industries, Habitat for Humanity and local Woman’s shelters can come and collect them. Only after an item is refused by the charities is it taken to a landfill.

A: Legally, we are unable to carry Hazardous material in our trucks. Please contact your local City Recycling Center for assistance in disposing of these materials.

In the junk removal business, you will always be able to find a company who can get rid or your junk cheaper than the junk guy’s at 1-800-JUNK-GUY That’s because the greatest expense in this business is dump fees, and many companies and individuals dump illegally. Our company policy is very firm on this issue. We are proud of our company and the manner in which we operate. We want to be able to leave this planet in a better condition than it is now. We pay all of the required dump fees for all of the material that we remove including the hazardous material fees. A computer monitor can cost as much as .42 a pound to dispose of, but it’s a small price to pay to keep the 13 different cancer causing materials in that monitor out of the drinking water and ground soil.
We don’t own this planet; we are just borrowing it from our children.
Do the right thing. Pay the fees, recycle and you will sleep better at night.
Q: Can you take down drywall, kitchen cabinets, warehouse shelving, trees, or other items that require more than just the removal?
A: Yes. 1-800-JUNK-GUY can provide complete demo services on commercial and residential properties as well as the cutting down of any trees under 12” in diameter.
Q: Can you move stuff from one location to another?
A: No, we are not licensed to carry items for the purpose of moving them. The trucks are used to transport "junk" and are quite dirty inside. We can only take away any items you no longer need.
Q: Why would I use your service and not just call for a dumpster?
A: Have you ever filled an 18-40 yard dumpster?
With 1-800-JUNK-GUY you have two hard working people who come and do all the labor and clean up while you relax. Our charges are based on the volume that your “Junk” takes up in our trailer. All of the dump fees and non-recycled fees are included in our rate. With a Dumpster, you have to do all of the labor and clean-up yourself. Then you have to dispose of the tires, computer monitors and other prohibited items separately. You also have to pay for the entire bin, no matter how much you fill. With 1-800-JUNK-GUY, you only pay for the portion of the trailer that is filled, and we have 4 different rate amounts.
Q: On larger jobs can you provide me with a dumpster and the labor to fill it?
A: Yes, 1-800-JUNK-GUY can provide you with roll off dumpsters in sizes ranging from 12 to 40 cubic yards.
We can then provide demo teams to tear down or remove any junk or construction debris that you may have.
Q: How big are your trailers?
A: Our trailers are bigger. Unlike our competitors, we us 16’ trailers with 4’ sides. The other Junk removal companies use trucks with 10’ beds. For the same price as an 11 cubic yard dump bed from the other companies, you can get 19 cubic yards of junk removed by using 1-800-JUNK-GUY
